What you are not willing to see, is what holds you back

ife is a simple, yet a complicated formula. The truth is that the variable that complicates the equation is You!

Thoughts + Expectations = Beliefs = Life as You know it.

Life is exactly what you believe and expect. We complicate this truth by trying to defend our actual fears. We become stuck in the illusion or story we create. Guarding our vulnerability, sensitivity, and insecurities. Often times it is easier to stay guarded and defensive than open up to what we assume will be. The “assuming” trapping us, ensuring that we miss out on the potential opportunities that are available to us.

The interesting part to this… when we are lost in the narrative, we often times are absolutely oblivious to the truth of it.

I was completely lost, yet in denial of what that meant. I was locked into the endless hustle and self-elevating expectations.  My motto, “out work and be willing to consistently do today what most will not”.  With every passing year, I was working harder, adding more tasks onto my toppling plate and booked agenda. The goals just kept coming; the complexity and expectation increasing. I was a complete self-motivated bully and workaholic. For at least 2.5 decades I put a new meaning to work hard. I only began to notice what was fueling this endless push when I started to search within, self-observe, and grow through it. I was stuck in an inner narrative and vicious cycle to prove to myself my worthiness. A silly story I created as a child growing up in a broken family and abandoned both emotionally and mentally at a very vulnerable age. Although this story served me well, it was time to heal and evolve. It was time to stop complicating the calculations. I am incredibly grateful for everything I have accomplished and achieved. However, it is incredibly freeing when we learn to simplify the equation.

Conclusion

In our ability to brave clarity around what fuels our equation, the calculation becomes a lot simpler.
